CALL – PROJECT COORDINATOR

JRS Malta is seeking to recruit a full-time PROJECT COORDINATOR to work on Project Integrated, a project that is funded by UNHCR.

The project involves 5 partners: JRS Malta, aditus foundation, Integra Foundation, Women’s Rights Foundation and Migrant Women’s Association Malta. It consists of two components, one focused on improving access to protection and the other on facilitating integration.

As part of the project, partners conduct a number of activities, including outreach in detention and open centres, provision of information, legal assistance, social work services and psychological support, and advocacy.

We are seeking a coordinator who will assist the project manager to ensure that project tasks are completed according to schedule and to the highest possible standard.

Terms and conditions

The selected candidate will be offered a 12-month full-time contract, with the possibility of renewal. Salary offered will be commensurate to experience.

Qualifications

Applicants must:

→     be in possession of a degree equivalent to Level 6 of the Malta Qualifications Framework

→     have a working knowledge of accounts

→     have experience in developing and managing projects, as well as in preparing project applications and reports

→     have experience developing and managing budgets

→     be able to use Microsoft Office applications such as Excel

→     be able to speak and write English fluently

→     be able to work independently and take initiative

→     have excellent communication and organisational skills

→     be flexible and have the ability to work in a team

→     be willing to work with and for people from diverse cultures

Previous experience in the refugee field, possession of a driving licence and own transport, and a working knowledge of Maltese will be considered an asset.

Job description

The selected candidate will be expected to work as part of a team.

The PROJECT COORDINATOR will be primarily responsible for:

→     Developing and monitoring project plans, project schedules, budgets and expenditure;

→     Ensuring that project activities are implemented according to plan and deadlines are met;

→     Coordinating project meetings, keeping updated records of proceedings and ensuring that the necessary follow up is conducted;

→     Updating/developing recording systems for all project services and activities, and maintaining updated records of all activities conducted;

→     Ensuring the maintenance of all the necessary documentation relating to the project;

→     Assisting with project management;

→     Conducting all tasks relating to project administration;

→     Completing narrative and financial reports in a timely manner;

→     Ensuring efficient communication and cooperation with the project funders and between project partners;

→     Assisting with the implementation of project activities as may be necessary;

→     Any other tasks that may be necessary for the smooth running of the project.
