Organization and implementation of training course on Maltese for beginners for JRS Malta’s Project ‘Refugee Empowerment and Action for Community Transformation’ (REACT)

Through the project we will recruit 8 asylum seekers and provide them with training aimed at enabling them to effectively engage in awareness raising activities among school children. The training will cover the following topics: language; human rights and effective communication.

General Information:

As part of this project JRS Malta is looking to sub-contract an individual/language school/other training agency or institution to provide Maltese language classes at beginner level for up to 8 individuals.  Lessons are to take place over a period of 3 months between March and May 2014, with teaching time of two hours per week (24 hours teaching time). 

Call Specifications:

Teacher Qualifications:

  • First degree in related area (this standard must be guaranteed by the selected contractor in the case of a language school or other teaching institution)
  • Proven experience teaching Maltese as a foreign language to beginners

Other Specifications:

  • The selected individual/language school must be willing to work with a group of individuals from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds
  • Lesson times will be planned according to the availability of the learners, therefore flexibility is essential
  • All teaching material to be provided by the individual/language school

Kindly note that a teaching venue/classroom can be provided by JRS Malta for the duration of the course.
