Social Apostolate & Ecology Board

The new Social Apostolate and Ecology Board had its first meeting on May 2nd, at Mount St Joseph retreat house.

This board, set up within the restructuring process that the Maltese Jesuits are going through, aims to bring about the persons directly involved in this area of the Jesuit mission in Malta, together with other Jesuit and non-Jesuit members, to form a unified strategy in the social area and implement it.

The social apostolate, which at the moment includes the Centre for Faith and Justice, the Paulo Freire Institute and the Jesuit Refugee Service, is assuming greater importance in our mission in Malta and world wide, and this board is a step towards a more unified response to needs and questions, and a more efficient use of resources in this ever changing sector.

The board members are Mr Frank Mifsud (Chairman), Dr Katrine Camilleri (Director JRS), Edgar Busuttil SJ (Director Centre for Faith & Justice), Vince Magri SJ (Director Paulo Freire Institute), Dr Patricia Bonello, Prof. Victor Axiak and Anthony Cilia SJ.
