Fr Frank Grech SJ passes away

The Jesuits in Malta sadly announce the passing of their companion Fr Frank Grech SJ, who slipped away peacefully to the company of our Lord this morning, 29th April, with Br Thomas Scerri SJ by his side.

Fr Frank was probably known by most through his innumerable years spent educating boys at St Aloysius College, as a teacher of chemistry and also as head of the secondary school and at the College Sixth Form.

He had a sharp scientific mind, which complemented his humane qualities, and was much sought after for counselling and accompaniment. Fr Frank was an avid reader and tireless in his efforts to help his students integrate scientific questions with Christian values, particularly with a strong pro-life outlook.

Fr Frank had graduated as a medial doctor before joining the Society of Jesus. He spent his last years at Loyola House in Naxxar. May God grant him eternal rest.

Funeral Mass will be held tomorrow, Monday 30th April, at Loyola House, Triq Markiz Scicluna, Naxxar in the community chapel, at 9.00am. All are welcome.
